John Gardiner-Garden from Australia will speak about the inspirations, factors, challenges and pleasure involved in creating new socially participatory dances to historical tunes. He will make an example of the process behind some of his most recent dance creations (all but one to be published for the first time this month) and illustrate the talk with some short videos and perhaps some live led dancing. |

During the spring lockdown, an idea was formed to film a historical dance video while keeping social distancing. While the concepting, filming and editing took half a year, the wait is now over! There will first be a little introduction and afterwards discussion on Zoom. The premiere itself is watched on YouTube. The people behind the video are Sampo Juustila, Jarno N. Alanko, Nana Åsten, Outi Rehn, Krista Kindt-Sarojärvi, Timo Sarojärvi, Mats Sarojärvi, Jarno Manninen, Merli Juustila, and Tuuli Helminen. |
