8 parin solatanssi, parit proper. Tanssissa solan neljä ensimmäistä paria ja neljä viimeistä paria sotivat keskenään.

Tanssin helpottamiseksi on hyvä identifioida alkuun solan 2 keskimmäistä paria.

A-osa

• (16 iskua) Kolme herraa molemmista päistä ottavat rivinä käsistä kiinni, neljäs eli keskimmäisin jää yksin paikalleen.
  Päädymmmäisin herra vie kolmikon letkana omien leidiensä ympäri päätyen omalle paikalleen takaisin
• (16 iskua) Kolme leidiä molemmista päistä tekevät vastaavasti

B-osa

• (4 iskua) Päätyparit ottavat kahden käden otteen ja laukkaavat kohti solan keskustaa neljällä laukalla.
  Samalla muut etenevät neljällä pienellä askeleella kohti oman ryhmänsä päätyä solassa.
• (ajaton) Keskelle solaa päästyään laukannut pari erkanee toisistaan solan reunoille ja alkaa edetä kohti oman ryhmänsä päätyä.
  Samalla seuraava päädyssä oleva pari aloittaa laukan kohti solan keskustaa

Tätä jatketaan kunnes neljäs pari on laukannut keskelle eli yhteensä 16 iskua.

• (8 iskua) Päätyparit molemmista päistä laukkaavat kahden käden otteessa koko solan poikki toiseen päätyyn
  Solan alapäädyn puolelta lähtenyt pari väistää keskellä kohdatessa; he päästävät otteensa irti ja nostavat kädet ylös nipin napin ajoissa niin, että yläpäädyn pari pääsee välistä esteettömästi.
• (8 iskua) Päädyssä ollessaan laukanneet parit tekevät cast offin ja siirtyvät solan keskimmäiseksi uusiksi pareiksi toiseen ryhmään

Tanssi alkaa alusta uusilta paikoilta.

8 pair longway. In the dance, the first four pairs and the last four pairs are at war with each other.

Trios

• 16 Three lords at each end are holding hands in a row, the fourth, or middle, is left alone in place. The end most lords takes the trio around their ladies, ending up back in their own places
• 16 Three ladies from each end do the same around their lords

Gallops

• 16 The end pairs take a two-hand grip and gallop towards the centre, while the others proceed in four small slip steps towards their ends (4). When the first pairs reach the centre, they separate from their partners and join the lines moving away from the centre, as the second couple at the end starts the gallop towards the centre (4). When they reach the centre and join the lines it’s the third pairs turn to make their way down (4) and after them the fourth ones (4)

Collision & cast off

• 8 Both end pairs gallop across the entire longway to the other end. The downhall couple dodges in the middle as they meet; letting their grip go and raising their hands so that the uphall pair can pass
• 8 Once reaching the other end, the colliding couples cast off and move to the middle of the longway, joining the group opposite to where they started, others move up a spot to make room for them.

The dance starts over in new spots, music quickening in pace.
